FameLab 2009 – Bulgaria, Sofia – Round 1

I took part in first round of FameLab 2009 in Bulgaria, Sofia on 30th of March.
Some info about FameLab:
FameLab is an initiative of the Cheltenham Science Festival in the UK and this is the first year the contest is going international in nine countries in South-East Europe through the British Council network. The aim of FameLab is to encourage young scientists (18 to 35 years old) to inspire and excite public imagination with a vision of science in the 21st century.
The competition is searching for the new faces of Science who will be able to develop their ideas and presentation skills for a TV audience. The model is familiar from TV programmes like Pop Idol and Mega Star – you have just 3 minutes to prove yourself to a panel of expert judges, with only the best going forward to the next round, and the talk should be entertaining and original, scientifically accurate but also engaging to a non-scientific audience.

21st Birthday
Yep, today is my birthday. I got some nice presents like a cool 6.1 sound system, a cash bonus for the holidays and I'm going to buy muself a new GSM , because my current one is old (Siemens M55)
University exams ;(
So last weeks and the coming one there are exams at Technical University - Sofia. That's where I study. I'm secound course and it feels like the most hard courses at all. Well that's what my fellow-students says. So far I had 4 exams and I think I'm passing only one of them ;( They are really hard as most students didn't took them too. Practise and statistics from previous years shows that only half of us are able too continue to the 3rd course without having to repeat the current one.
When I went to university I thought that becoming an engineer is not that hard, but I was wrong. I'm studing for an engineer of Electronics and as such I have to be atleast able to design new devices and that requires a lot of knowadge in many areas. Atleast when I graduate I'll be proud of my self as being an engineer and not just a programmer. I've aways wanted to know as much technical information as possible.
